Pantheon:
This ancient building in Rome is the most well preserved. In the 2nd century, it was built in a round shape topped with a beautiful dome of 27 foot wide which was the largest in the world until 1960. It is only lit with the sunlight and inside you can see colored marble and pillars that are very well detailed artistically. Pantheon serves as a place to bury famous Italians such as monarchs.

This building is unfortunately does not look the same like in was constructed in 82 A. D. because of earthquakes and lightning. It was Rome's greatest stadium that could seat 50,000 spectators and was served for duels of gladiators and fights between people and wild animals, and battles between boats. However, when the Colosseum started to because ruins after the collapse of the Roman empire it was abandoned and marble seats, statues and blocks were stolen.

One of the largest monument is the Arch of Septimus Severus to honor the emperor Septimus Severus of his great military victories when Romans pass beside it. Also, their is columns that represent emperor Trajan and Marcus Aurelius and scenes of battles.

On the exterior, you can observe 135 tall pointed spires and 3,000 sculptures by going in the walkway on the roof. In the inside, 40,000 people pray and worship and the decoration includes 52 pillars crowned with statues of holy figures.

Pisa's Learning Tower:
This building is well-known in the world because of its tilted structure. It was constructed in 1174 for the bells of the Pisa's cathedral. However, during the construction novbody knew that the ground underneath on one side would sink which made the tower lean to one side and therefore the access to tourist was forbidden frightened it would collapse. This is why in 1992, engineers used steel, concrete and gigantic weights to anchor the tower so it would stop leaning more. They also tried to remove as much soil from the higher side of the tower so it is in a more upright position, but they have no plans to make it stand straight up since many tourists find it very impressive that the tower is able to stand tilted.

He loved to observe and study natural world and take everything down in his notebooks which still people analyze them today. Leonardo already had ideas and sketches of flying machines and diving suits which were only invented centuries later. His paintings were very well-known for in elaborated imagination, detail and beauty such as the Last Supper and Mona Lisa (seen on the left of this page) which are famous paintings in the world.
